On November 24, YG Entertainment, Psy’s agency, reported, “The music video of Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ has received a total of 803,761,928 hits and has become the most watched video on YouTube, beating Justin Bieber’s music video.”
Since the music video was released on July 15, it has become the most watched video on YouTube in only 133 days. Psy is the first Asian artist to top the chart with his music video.
Considering the fact that the music video of Bieber’s “Baby,” which has been the most watched music video before he was beaten by that of “Gangnam Style,” was released on February, 2010, Psy has achieved it in the shortest time of all.
The music video also topped the Favorite Video Chart and the Most Bookmarked Video Chart.
On November 23 (Korean time), Psy performed “Gangnam Style” on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
On November 28, Psy will attend a large-scale event, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, in celebration of the king of the country.
