The long awaited debut of Alpha Entertainment's first girl group take place in Seoul, Korea, this Tuesday, 14th August 2012. This marks a significant milestone in placing
Singapore firmly into the K-pop entertainment scene, shoulder to shoulder with the likes of JYP, SM and YG in Korea. The 4 girl group is known as SKarf, with S and K signifying Singapore and Korea, to mark the first ever group in the entertainment history to be launched in Korea to consist of 2 Singaporeans and 2 Koreans members.
Their road to stardom started in 2010, as they were handpicked from literally thousands of hopefuls who attended the auditions co-organised by Alpha Entertainment & JYP, in Singapore and Hong Kong. They were selected by Alpha Entertainment's top executive trainers, who were formally from SM, and also trained and managed groups like SNSD, TVXQ, SHINee, Super Junior, F(x) and many more. Under their expert guidance and watchful eye, our trainees then undergone rigorous and intensive training in Korea.
This unique development in the entertainment scene had caught the attention of Korea's MBC station and they are producing an exclusive 5 part series on SKarf. The first episode is scheduled to air on 11th Aug at 7pm on MBCPlus channel, which can also be viewed on the internet. More details will follow on Alpha Entertainment's website and Facebook pages. Not to leave our Singapore's local media, Mediacorp will also feature cameo appearances of SKarf in their year end blockbuster drama, It Takes Two 《对对碰》. The series will be aired on 6 Nov on Channel 8 at 9pm (Singapore time), and SKarf will appear on episodes 17 and 18. The girls will also appear on all the music programs in Seoul.
